Western Sports FoundationBringing new life to an established nonprofit through strategy, storytelling, and execution.
Western Sports Foundation had a strong mission, deep roots in the Western sports industry, and an established reputation. The opportunity was to build more consistency around how that story was communicated and create a stronger marketing presence across the organization.
My work spanned both strategy and execution, including brand positioning, social media, content planning, photography, video, podcast development, event marketing, and on-site event coverage. The goal was to create a more connected marketing approach while giving the organization the tools and content needed to stay active, relevant, and visible throughout the year.
That included helping shape and grow Behind the Ropes, Western Sports Foundation’s podcast, developing stories around athletes and industry voices, supporting fundraising and awareness initiatives, and creating content around key events and programs.
The work also extended into event planning and coverage, where strategy, storytelling, and real-time execution came together to capture the people and moments behind the organization while supporting broader marketing goals.
Over the course of the work, Western Sports Foundation saw meaningful growth across its digital channels, including approximately 80% growth on Facebook, Instagram nearly doubling, and more than 14,000 unique podcast downloads.
The project became a strong example of what happens when strategy, content, and execution work together: an established organization was able to show up with more consistency, tell its story more clearly, and create stronger momentum around the mission and community at its core.
